Bourgogne Blanc

Mâconnais & Bourgogne

Worth trying here are the superb Mâcon Blanc from the vignerons des Terres Secretes and  Macon-Prissé from Caves de Prissé - both are delicious lemon-fresh Chardonnays and benchmark white Burgundy. We have an excellent Pouilly-Fuissé of real elegance and complexity from Domaine Saumaize - rated by Jane MacQuitty as one of her  ‘Wines of the Year’ - that has a classic mineral nose with wonderful underpinning honeysuckle.

La Chablisienne make exemplary Chablis in a modern, squeaky-clean style. This wine making philosophy creates wines full of fruit with refreshing acidity.‘Les Vénérables’ is  made from 50 year old vines, this rich wine is aged in oak and kept on its lees to develop extra richness. Our Petit-Chablis ‘Pas si Petit’ has been awarded the regional trophy for best Chablis under £15 in the Decanter Wine awards 2015

Côte d'Or

The Puligny-Montrachet from Domaine Boyer-Martenot has a delicious minerality and real finesse, is a wine for drinking young that will also age. Both the Meursaults have considerable depth of flavour and richness of fruit on the palate with the sublime Château de Blagny, located high on the hillside overlooking Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, perhaps the most important domaine in the commune. Louis Latour is the largest vineyard owner in Corton-Charlemagne with 30 year old vines located on a prime location on the Corton hillside where the south-easterly aspect ensures maximum exposure to the sun. Aged in new French oak barriques for 8 – 10 months, this astonishing wine will age for many years.
