Quinta de Macedos

Lisboa & Alentejo Region

 

A wine characterized by is aromatic exuberance, with notes of red fruits and vanilla. In the mouth it is fruity with velvety notes of red ripe fruits, balanced by notes of spices, chocolate and some oak notes. An elegant wine with firm tannins and a fruity finish.

This classic Portuguese blend is foot-trodden in lagar and combines depth of fruit character and concentration from Touriga and Alicante, alongside structure and acidity from the Castelao.

It's a blend of Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon among others - the exact proportions varying from vintage to vintage - which, after fermentation, is aged in large French oak barrels for 4 months before bottling.
